Kyiv Summer Stroke Summit: Stroke Update 2026

Join the Kyiv Summer Stroke Summit “Stroke Update 2026”, taking place on May 21–23, 2026 — an international scientific and practical conference dedicated to modern approaches to stroke prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation.
The event is organized by the Ukrainian Anti Stroke Association in collaboration with the Medical Center «Universal Clinic «Oberig», the Education and Professional Experience Charity Project, the Global Medical Knowledge Alliance (GMKA), and with the endorsement of the European Stroke Organisation (ESO).
The summit brings together leading international experts in stroke medicine, vascular neurology, neurosurgery, and rehabilitation to share current scientific advances, clinical experience, and evidence-based approaches to stroke care. 
Speakers include specialists who contribute to modern clinical guidelines and standards of care in the United States, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, and across Europe.

As part of the three-day program, the summit will feature the panel discussion “Case-Based Clinical Decision-Making in Complex Stroke Scenarios” with Dr. Mark J. Dannenbaum, MD — a fellowship-trained neurosurgeon specializing in vascular and endovascular surgery, and Associate Professor in the Vivian L. Smith Department of Neurosurgery at McGovern Medical School, UTHealth Houston, and Dr. Christine Hawkes, MD, FRCPC — Medical Director of the Neurovascular Unit at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (Canada).
The session will be moderated by Dr. Kateryna Potapova, MD, PhD, MHA — neurologist and Co-Executive Director of GMKA. The discussion will also feature Dr. Yuriy Flomin, MD, PhDDr. Stanislav Konotopchyk, MD, PhD, and Dr. Andriy Smolanka, MD, PhD, FEBNS (Ukraine). Together, the speakers will review complex clinical cases and discuss approaches to clinical decision-making in everyday practice.
