Perioperative Patient Management: A Multidisciplinary Approach

The Global Ukrainian Medical Knowledge Alliance (GUMKA) is launching a free virtual course, “Perioperative Patient Management: A Multidisciplinary Approach,” developed in collaboration with experts from the University of Toronto, Sunnybrook Hospital, and MedRise Public Organization. 
The program aims to consolidate current knowledge on preoperative patient preparation, optimal perioperative care, and interdisciplinary collaboration that directly impacts surgical outcomes.
Participants will gain insights into:
  • Core principles of perioperative medicine
  • Modern approaches to perioperative risk stratification
  • Key aspects of anesthetic management
  • Optimization of medication therapy before and after surgery
  • Prevention and management of perioperative thrombosis
  • Diabetes management in the perioperative setting
  • Perioperative stress-dose corticosteroid management
The program is designed for surgeons, anesthesiologists, internal medicine physicians, and other healthcare professionals involved in perioperative patient care.
Language: English with simultaneous interpretation into Ukrainian
The speakers are experts in internal medicine, anesthesiology, and perioperative medicine from the University of Toronto and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, a leading academic medical center in Toronto, Canada.
